I began making my own mineral cosmetics in 2009, due to allergies and sensitivities to nearly all commercially available cosmetic and skincare products. My brother and several of my children were also blessed with multiple skin sensitivities. At that time I had a herd of dairy goats I was milking and with the extra milk, I began making soaps and lotions, that I then sold at the Falls Park Farmer's Market in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, under the brand name Pearl Creek Goat Milk Soap Co. After my daughter (my 3rd child) was born in 2011, I had so much on my plate with a newborn and the learning challenges of my oldest son, who has a form of autism, that I sold my goats and put my business on pause for 10 years. Fast forward to 2021, my daughter, Anna had been involved in 4-H Fashion Revue for several years, at the time and wanted to make her own makeup. As the saying goes, go big or go home. She wanted to reopen my former business. In January of 2021 we bought some new supplies and rebranded the business as Pearl Creek Cosmetics & Skincare.
